The site is divided into three sections one for each volume of ballards brunetes. Indexes for each volume are provided based on the indexes in the volumes themselves. No overall index is provided, if you are searching for a particular song you will need to check each volume seperately.

Ballards indexes reference all the verses of the songs and not only the first as would perhaps be the practice today. This usage is maintained in the indexes to this site.

On each page menu options in the left hand column allow you to access the next or preceding page. The contents link takes you back to the indexes.

Each page presents a preview image. Clicking on this image will load a full size version. These large versions are 1498 x 1038 pixels in size and approximately 600k (lightly) compressed jpegs.

If you wish to print the images I recommend using the large ones, the small ones are provided only as a convenient preview.

Important : Depending on your screens definition certain browsers will resize the large images to try and display them within the limits of your browser window. In this case you need to click again on the photo in order to display the full sized image. Only the browser display is affected, if you save the image it will be full size.

Known errors : The volume three indexes by page and title do not include the 'Chansons à danser'. Please use the seperate 'Chansons à danser' index. The title and page indexes for the other volumes do include the chansons à danser.
