These cartoons by G. Mathieu are drawn from the an amusing set of cards designed to 'transform and pervert the traditional rules of chess'. The authors of the game have kindly given us permission to use them. You can find more details on the game here. Note that these cartoons come from the french edition. The american edition is apparently different.
