Other usefull font references..
I recommend the following two sites both of which have usefull materiel on fonts
and chess desktop publishing in general as well as much else of interest.
- Eric Bentzen's page
which has a good list of fonts and diagram construction utilities.
Amongst many others you will find there a font based on designs used in many old eastern block publications. It's a very 'legible' and
attractive font and definitely my favourite of the non 'standard' fonts - recommended.
Eric also has a freeware font called Chess Harlequin made by Armando H. Marroquin and
based on designs I found in an old french chess book. It's a lovely font and my thanks to Armando for being kind
enough to build it for us.
-
Hans Bodlaender's page is also a usefull resource offering very much the same material as Eric's site.
Don't miss the rest of his site on variant chess - very good #;-)
